A new policy for exhibiting livestock is being considered by the Logan County Fair Board.
In a regular rescheduled meeting Wednesday, fair directors agreed to begin working out details of a new “family tagging” procedure to permit immediate families to tag a group of animals for possible show, but not require individuals to select a specific project until it is time to weigh in the week of the fair.
Under current rule, exhibitors are required to specify which animal they will show at the fair. According to the proposal, families would tag a group of animals under one name, allowing for greater flexibility among families and exhibitors when it comes time to choose a show animal.
