Bellefontaine’s softball team played for an important cause Monday afternoon, competing in an Autism Awareness game against visiting Springfield Shawnee.
The Chiefs wore special uniforms to recognize Autism Awareness and a helmet was passed through the stands for donations to the cause.
Unfortunately, the Chiefs fell short on the field with a 6-1 loss to the Braves.
Bellefontaine drops to 6-8 overall and 0-5 in the Central Buckeye Conference, while the Braves improve to 11-4, 5-2.
“We played a good game defensively, but we just could not get hits,” said Bellefontaine head coach Katie Buffkin.
