Erma J. Lange, 85, of Huntsville, passed away, Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.
Erma was born July 1, 1934, in Delphos, a daughter of the late Oscar and Hilda Hugel Meyers. She married John B. Lange Jr. on Dec. 26, 1953, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2014. She is also preceded in death by two grandsons, Rodney L. Tinsley, Jr., and Jasen B. Lange.
She is survived by five children, Jeffrey (Roberta) Lange, and Deanna (Rodney) Tinsley, both of Russells Point, James Lange of Bellefontaine, Darlene (Mark) Knight of Pickerington, and Joel Lange of Huntsville; 12 grandchildren, Ryan Lange, Dustin Lange, Angela Savage, James Caleb Lange, Micah Lange, Tiffany Montgomery, Brittany Moldovan, Sarah Knight, Kyle Knight, Nikki Moscinski, Holly Maier and Kirk Knott; 18 great grandchildren, Norah, Jace, Oliver, Burke, and Ava Lange, Jalyn Savage, Benjamin and Elizabeth Montgomery, Eleanor, Oliver and Nicholas Moldovan, Samantha and Miranda Moscinski, Zach, Claire and Gabi Maier, and Tyler and Trent Knott; one great-great grandchild, Raina Davidson; one sister, Berdonna Hughes of Huntsville; one brother, Eugene Meyer of Largo, Fla.; sister-in-law, Celia Lange of Lakeview, and several nieces and nephews.
Erma was a 1951 graduate of Washington Local School. She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Church. She was also a member of the Ohio Board of Realtors. Erma and John owned and operated Lange’s Driving Range for 11 years as a family operation to supply family –oriented recreation to the Indian Lake community. Erma spent over 50 years as a realtor at Indian Lake working at Kronenberger Realty and later at Zimmerman Realty. She enjoyed playing solitaire and dining out. Her greatest love was for her family; spending time with Joel and seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Father Shawn Landenwitch will begin a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 28, at St. Mary of the Woods Church. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Shoffstall Funeral Home North Chapel, 115 N. Main St., Lakeview, with prayers beginning at 2:45 p.m., and Friday, one hour prior to mass at the church. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
