Taylor Lou-Ann Newman, 20, of 9661 Fairview Ave., Lakeview, was charged with felony counts of possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident Sunday evening at Mad River Mountain, 1000 Snow Valley Road, Zanesfield.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office on patrol of the parking lot area of the ski resort about 9:40 p.m. observed an odor of burnt marijuana and then saw a suspected drug transaction in a nearby vehicle.
Ms. Newman was the driver of the vehicle, and Dakota M. Beech, 21, address at large, was the passenger. Deputies noted that Ms. Newman held a backpack in her lap, and inside the backpack, they recovered nearly a pound of marijuana.

Also inside the vehicle, a scale was located. Ms. Newman was issued the paraphernalia charge related to the scale and the packaging for the marijuana. She was transported to the Logan County Jail.
Mr. Beech was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and was released.
Woman charged with conveying drugs into jail
Savannah L. Stanley, 41, of 10815 Front St., Lakeview, was charged with illegal conveyance of drugs into a detention facility Friday evening following an incident at the Logan County Jail.
Jail staff received a report of suspicious activity in a cell block at the facility. Upon investigation, a small amount of crack cocaine was located.
Ms. Stanley, an inmate at the jail since Jan. 14, was issued the charge after staff members spoke with inmates.
Drunk driver faces resisting arrest charge
Jeffrey S. Kindle, 49, of 245 E. Harrison St., Lakeview, was issued summonses for resisting arrest and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs following a traffic stop Saturday evening.
Deputies received a report of a suspected drunk driver about 9:45 p.m. in the area of Harrison Street in Lakeview. A traffic stop was initiated with the vehicle in the parking lot of Captain’s Point, 305 E. Harrison St., Lakeview.
The driver, Mr. Kindle, showed signs of intoxication, but refused to submit to field sobriety tests. He then took off on foot, and deputies located him hiding behind a trailer at Geiger Mobile Home Park, 234 E. Harrison St., Lakeview.
He then complained of medical issues, and was transported by squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment. He was issued the summonses, and also citations for operating a vehicle without headlights and no seat belt.
