TRIPLETT |
A convicted drug dealer was arrested for the second time in three months Thursday. Both arrests come within months of his release from prison.
Jonathan L. Triplett, 27, of 555 Newell St., Apt. 5, was arrested on a warrant for trafficking in cocaine as part of Logan County Joint Drug Task Force investigation.
Task force detectives obtained the warrant and called in officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department to conduct a traffic stop at 3 p.m. at Spring Avenue and Madriver Street.
Detectives report Triplett was arrested in February for trafficking in cocaine and possession of cocaine. He was released on bond.
The task force continued to investigate him and obtained a warrant for the most recent charges from March.
At the time of his Thursday arrest, he was carrying $438 in cash which was seized at the Logan County Jail as evidence.
Triplett was a target of the task force in 2015 and was indicted on charges of drug trafficking, possession of crack cocaine and illegal conveyance of drugs into a jail.
He was sentenced to 30 months in prison on the charges in 2016.
