Tamaria R. Newell, 19, of Bellefontaine, was transported by BMRT EMS to Lima Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash Thursday, Dec. 1.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating a northbound 2015 Honda CR-V in the 9000 block of State Route 117 about 11:40 a.m. and failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead. Her vehicle struck the rear of a Logan County-owned single-unit truck operated by Tony K. Randsbottom, 58, of Bellefontaine, that was stopped to make a turn into Duff’s Quarry.
Randsbottom did not report any injuries. Newell was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
Damage was heavy to the sport utility vehicle and light to the truck.
• Trevor L. King, 23, of Wapakoneta, was transported by private vehicle to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in a crash about 10 a.m. Thursday.
Deputies report he was operating a westbound 2012 Honda Civic in the 4400 block of County Road 40 when he went off the left side of the road, struck the ditch, culvert, tree and a utility pole. The car came to rest on its side and sustained heavy damage.
The driver reportedly was falling asleep/fatigued at the time of the crash. He was wearing his seat belt and was cited for failure to control.
