Bryan T. Brenner, 28, of Maplewood, was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton for treatment of suspected serious injuries sustained in a crash about 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating an eastbound sport utility vehicle on Township Road 59 when he failed to stop at the stop sign at County Road 21 and entered the intersection, striking the driver’s side of a northbound pickup operated by Colin K. Maxwell, 55, of Wapakoneta. Both vehicles then went off the northeast side of the intersection and the pickup struck a Logan County Electric Cooperative pole before coming to a rest.
Deputies said Brenner was not wearing a seat belt, and he was cited for a stop sign violation. Maxwell was wearing a seat belt and did not report any injuries. Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene.
