Scott Bayless Jr., 32, address at large, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs as a result of a traffic stop about 9:30 p.m. Monday.
Officers of the Russells Point Police Department received a report from a Washington Township Police Department officer regarding a vehicle driving without its headlights on in the area of U.S. Route 33.
While speaking with Bayless, officers detected signs of impairment from the driver. The defendant was asked to submit to field sobriety tests, which he failed.
Bayless was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail. While enroute to the jail and at the jail, he reportedly made various statements to officers and at one point asked them to shoot him. He was placed under observation at the jail.
