Benjamin A. Keykens, 33, of 419 N. Madriver St., was charged Tuesday with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and a stop sign violation after a 5:10 p.m. crash Tuesday.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report he was northbound in an alley and disregarded a stop sign as he approached the 100 block of east Williams Avenue. His car hit the driver’s side of a car operated by Thomas I. Stoner, 25, of Bellefontaine.
Damage was moderate to both cars.
Officers observed signs Keykens was intoxicated and conducted field sobriety tests which confirmed their suspicions. The motorist submitted a breathalyzer sample of 0.205.
He was released to his wife.
