Douglas Blair Dearwester, 55, of Bellefontaine, passed away Saturday morning, Oct. 31, 2020, at his home after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Doug was born in Bellefontaine on Jan. 16, 1965, to John E. and Sue (Plank) Dearwester, Jr., and they survive in Bellefontaine. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Sheila and Doug Rutherford of Bellefontaine; niece Alicia (Justin) Dinovo of Bellefontaine; nephew Dustin Rutherford of Bellefontaine; great-nephew and great-niece Keaton and Mayah Dinovo; his god-mother Barbara Skacal of Massilon; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a great group of friends too numerous to mention. Doug was preceded in death by a great-niece Iris Kay Dinovo.
A 1983 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Doug did masonry work in the Bellefontaine area for many years. Most recently, he was working as a fork-lift operator for Ryan Logistics. In his spare time, Doug listened to classic rock, enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, working the garden with one of his best friends – and making salsa from the garden’s harvest. The Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes were his favorite teams. Doug was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Bellefontaine.
Friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The family will have a private memorial service and burial will be in Huber Cemetery.
Due to the current pandemic orders, please be symptom-free, practice social distancing, and wear a mask. Casual attire is requested, Browns and Buckeye gear would be perfect.
