Benjamin Logan High School student Thia Downing shares her artistic talents through an inspirational agriculture-themed display she created for the Doors of EnCOURAGEment project. This week, organizers with the annual fundraiser for the Logan County Cancer Society announced that the display of doors will take place from Aug. 3 through 29 in downtown Bellefontaine. An auction is planned for 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, in the downtown area. The display previously had been planned for the spring, but was postponed at that time because of COVID-19. “The craziness of the first part of this year is just going to make us appreciate all the hard work and love that went into creating all of the beautiful doors,” organizers said in a Facebook post Thursday. Submissions are still being accepted, and interested individuals should message the Doors of EnCOURAGEment page on Facebook for more details. The participation donation is $200 for the Logan County Cancer Society, which offers financial assistance to Logan County residents with a cancer diagnosis to cover expenses such as medication, equipment, supplies, wigs and other items, including gas cards to help with treatment-related travel costs.
