Donald Eugene Wagoner passed away peacefully on May 2, 2019 at his home in Eustis, Fla. He was born April 3, 1923, in Stokes Township to the late William Clyde Wagoner and Lois Meryl Lenhart Wagoner, and grew up in Lakeview.
He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1942, joined the Army in 1943 and served two years in Italy during World War II. He was discharged in 1945 and achieved the rank of master sergeant. He retired in 1987 after working at several different occupations.
Donald married Mary Francis Burns in 1946 in Lexington, Ky., and they were happily married for 55 years.
He was a member of AMVETS, Elks and Community Chapel Christian Church in Mount Dora., Fla.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing, being with friends and playing cards. He traveled with the Airstream club for several years and went to all 50 states.
He married Patricia Huntington on June 2, 2007, and they had several good years together.
Survivors include his daughter, Joanna Marie Born of Mount Dora, Fla.; a son, Dennis Eugene Wagoner of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, William Clyde (Missy) Wagoner, Jennifer Lee (Drew) Rachek and Sean Kasey Born; great-grandchildren, Keely Ann Wagoner, William Collin Wagoner and Evan Donald Wagoner; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is also survived by special friends, Deb and Marvin Seeley.
Donald was also preceded in death by his wife; brother, Carl Max Wagoner; son, William Samuel Wagoner; sister, Iris Irene Wagoner; and son-in-law, Harrison Lee Born.
A memorial service and visitation will be held at Shoffstall Funeral Home in Lakeviewat a later date with burial to follow at Huntsville Cemetery.
