Daniel Thomas Durfor, 34, of 262 S. Main St., West Mansfield, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, and for driving without a license after he reportedly left the scene of a domestic dispute with his estranged wife Saturday about 4:30 p.m.
Deputies responded to the West Mansfield address on a report of the suspect making threats.
The suspect had left the scene by the time deputies arrived, driving southbound on County Road 42 toward East Liberty.
Deputies caught up with him at the intersection of County Road 2 and State Route 292. He denied any wrongdoing at the residence and claimed he was just trying to claim his belongings, but threatened no one.The suspect did admit to consuming alcohol, and refused a field a sobriety test.
An open can of alcohol was found in the vehicle, according to a law enforcement report.
At the Logan County Jail, the suspect reportedly registered a .202 blood-alcohol content.
The report was forward to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office for a review of potential domestic violence charges.
Teen suspect charged with GSI
Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged a teenager with a sex crime following an investigation into his alleged unruly behavior.
Billy Lahr, 16, of 11054 Onieda Path, Lakeview, is lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of domestic violence and gross sexual imposition for allegedly assaulting a 70-year-old woman.
Deputies responded to the residence shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday on a report the teen had been acting unruly and had what appeared to be self-inflicted knife wounds. He was still in possession of the knife when deputies arrived but they were eventually able to get the knife away from the youth.
He resisted handcuffs, according to law enforcement reports, but was lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
Follow-up investigation by deputies yielded the sex charge. Written statements were collected, and deputies reportedly confiscated several items from the suspect’s bedroom, including knives, suspected detonating materials as well as a collection of women’s undergarments.
