A Logan County Sheriff’s deputy is home and recovering from injuries after her cruiser was rammed while parked at the Quincy Handy Mart, 105 Carlisle St., Quincy, around 10:10 p.m. Saturday.
Deputy Brandi Miles was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, troopers of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.
Sheriff Randy Dodds’ office reported she was home continuing her recovery.
According to troopers, Marquise Vann, 26, was driving a car northbound on State Route 235 when he drove left of center and into the parking lot. His car struck the right front of Miles’ cruiser, causing heaving damage to both vehicles.
Vann also sustained minor injuries and was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney for treatment and mental health evaluations.
His family members reportedly contacted law enforcement prior to the incident to report Vann had made suicidal comments.
He was cooperative with deputies and emergency personnel at the scene and, according to troopers, continued to cooperate with hospital staff.
Squads from Riverside, Indian Lake and Quincy responded to the crash along with deputies and troopers.
Logan County Prosecutor Eric Stewart said this morning his office will review reports with the intention of filing felony charges by the end of the day.
