3 area districts among those not applying
Local schools are getting another chance to claim their share of grant funding to enhance safety and improve training.
The Ohio Attorney General’s Office announced Friday extension of a deadline for public school administrators to apply for safety training grants to improve school security.
More than $12 million was allocated in September to more than 1,700 Ohio schools for grant funding of at least $2,500 — or $5.65 per student, whichever is greater — to direct toward school safety programs and training.
Benjamin Logan and Ridgemont schools, along with the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center were among those to miss the original deadline to apply for funding, according to information from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
