David M. Gilbert, 64 of Bellefontaine, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at the OSU Medical Center in care of the Hospice of Central Ohio.
David was born June 21, 1956 in Columbus to Franklin Eugene and Frances Pauline (Boysel) Gilbert.
David was an avid OSU Football, Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan. He held Dawg Pound front row season tickets for 28 years. He enjoyed Rock-N-Roll music and going to concerts. David loved his classic and sports cars and made sure they were always clean and spotless. He loved spending time in the sun, especially at the beach; spending time with his children, grandchildren and going to their games. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, life partner, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
David is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. Gilbert; children, Natasha (Adam) Kitzmiller, David (Terra) Gilbert Jr., Frances (Paul) Clark, Seth (Alexandra) Gilbert and Zack Gilbert; life partner, Sandy Lee Taylor; grandchildren, Savannah, Hayley, Kylee, Christina, Megan, David III, Corbin and Theodore; mother, Frances Pauline Gilbert; brother, Michael (Shirley) Gilbert; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Franklin Eugene Gilbert; lifelong friend, Randy Chambers.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
