David Lucid, 69, of Urbana, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017, at home with his family by his side.
He was born Sept. 27, 1947, in Dayton.
David is preceded in death by his parents, John J. and Ellen V. Loges Lucid.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon K. Baker Lucid; his children, Amy Coleen (Doug) Carroll, Natalie Anne (Michael) Gilmore, David Gregory (Melissa) Lucid and Kirk Faul; his siblings, Patricia J. (David) Davidson, John E. Lucid and Michael T. Lucid; 15 beloved grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Grace, Rebecca and Emily Gilmore, Lydia, Hope and Anna Grace Carroll, Hutch, Jackson and Payton Lucid, Chloe Arno and Savannah Klee, Hannah Faul and Zachary and Chelsea Kidd; seven brothers and sisters-in-law; and 12 nieces and nephews.
David received his bachelor’s degree from the Ohio State University, a master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and studied law at Northern Kentucky University. David was the founder of Progressive Health Care Systems serving the health care industry and was a member of OHCA and AHCA. He was a devout Christian and a member of Concord United Methodist Church. David and Sharon helped establish and run the Burns Home for Youth (boys) in Cincinnati and helped with the startup of a second home for girls.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 7, in the Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana, and an hour prior to the 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, funeral services in the Concord United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sherri Blackwell officiating. Burial follows in Concord Cemetery.
