David Keith Poland, 73, of West Liberty, passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 2, 2021, at Memorial Hospital, Marysville.
David was born in Springfield, on June 8, 1947, to the late Harold G. and Joan E. (Campbell) Poland. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law Brian Prall.
David married Beth Anne Prall on Nov. 29, 1968, and she survives in West Liberty. He is also survived by their children: Gina (John) Woodruff of Springfield, Julie (Dan) Yoder of Urbana, and Jason Poland of Urbana; seven grandchildren: Megan (Alex) Thompson, Thera (Trevor) Poland, Austin (Kaylee) Randall, Dalton Randall, Cheyenne Woodruff, Avery Randall, and Krista Poland; four great-grandchildren: Cooper, Carter, Elsie, and Luna; his mother-in-law Phyllis Wallace of Bellefontaine; brother-in-law Ed (Tammy) Prall of Zanesfield; sister-in-law Jana (Dennis) Wolever of West Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.
David served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the US Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he worked as an assembler at Navistar/International Harvester for 35 years before retiring in 2003. He then worked at Home Depot in Marysville for another five years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Great Smoky Mountains, and touring the Air Force Museum. David also loved gardening, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Pastor Joe Ziraldo will officiate a graveside service for David on Friday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
