Dale E. Tracy, 80, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 30, 2018, at his home.
Dale was born in DeGraff on Aug. 29, 1937, to the late Albert William and Mildred Ricketts Tracy. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Tracy, and a sister, Betty Riley.
A 1955 graduate of West Liberty High School, Dale was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked many years as an assembler at Navistar, before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in West Liberty where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Dale had been a scout master for several years, coached Little League baseball in West Liberty, and was a member of the West Liberty Lions Club for 15 years. In his spare time, Dale loved watching Ohio State Buckeyes football and basketball.
Dale married the former Joyce Parker on Dec. 13, 1963, in Richmond, Ind., and she survives in Bellefontaine. He is also survived by a son, Tony (Anne) Tracy of Richmond, Va.; and a daughter, Lisa Tracy of Charlotte, N.C.; two grandchildren, Meghan and Bridget Tracy; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends, including Don and Janie Moffitt.
A memorial service begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at the West Liberty United Church of Christ, where calling is one hour prior to the service.
