Jeffrey A. Bolling, 29, of 3930 Harrison Road, Bellefontaine, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs as a result of a crash Sunday on the U.S. Route 33 entrance ramp from State Route 117.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating a northbound car about 3:10 a.m. when he traveled off the left side of the entrance ramp and struck a middle concrete barrier. He then overcorrected and went off the right side of the road and down a steep ditch.
The driver was wearing his seat belt and damage was moderate to the car, which was towed from the scene. He and his two passengers did not report any injuries.
Deputies were dispatched to the area on a report of three individuals walking along the entrance ramp. While speaking with Bolling, deputies observed that he displayed signs
He told deputies he drove his car into the ditch because he observed another vehicle driving in his lane.
Bolling submitted to field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. At the Logan County Jail, he refused to take a urine test. He also was cited for failure to control.
Summons issued for theft
Taylor Lou-Ann Newman, 25, of 3087 State Route 67, Belle Center, was issued a summons for theft relating to an incident Thursday at Winner’s Market, 13840 N. State Route 235, ??
Deputies were dispatched to the business Friday, and spoke with the manager, who reported a woman had placed “Skinny Freeze Vodka Martinis” in her bib overalls the previous evening and left the store without paying for the item. The item was valued at $18.99 plus tax.
Deputies reviewed video surveillance of the incident and spoke with Newman that afternoon. She admitted to being at the business the previous night, but said she did not steal anything.
