Kenton Ridge’s boys basketball team delivered a big upset Saturday as it defeated Indian Lake 64-56 in a Division II sectional tournament opener at Springfield High School.

The Cougars, who were seeded seventh among the seven teams in the sectional, were winless through the regular season. They are now 1-22 and face top-seeded Urbana on Tuesday in a sectional semifinal.
The Lakers finish their season at 12-10.
Kenton Ridge started off with a 14-12 lead after the opening quarter.
Indian Lake used a 15-12 run in the second quarter to carry a 27-26 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Cougars kept themselves in the game by clipping the Lakers 19-18 in the third quarter. That tied the game at 45-45.
Kenton Ridge pulled away in the fourth quarter with a 19-11 run.
Kale Shoffner led the Lakers with a game-high 26 points, while Parker Grothaus and Alex Jacobs each had nine points.
The Cougars were powered by Jameel Cosby with 22 points and Michael Baker with 20 points.
