Applications for community garden plots at the community garden along Troy Road between west Sandusky and Garfield avenues are being accepted by the Bellefontaine Parks and Recreation Departments.
There is no charge for plots, but the gardeners are required to maintain them following community garden guidelines.
Applications are available at the City Building, 135 N. Detroit St., Bellefontaine. Call (937) 592-3475 with questions.
One of the Logan County Master Gardeners will be at the site to distribute information and keys to the storage facility at the site at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6.
Comedy night to raise money for playground equipment
A comedy night at the Holland Theatre that will raise money for adaptive playground equipment at Blue Jacket Park.
Organizers with the local Ohio Families Affected by Autism and Dare to Be Aware Club are hosting the event, which will feature local comedian Joe Jackson.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, with a silent auction beginning at 6 p.m. and the performance at 7:30 p.m.

Mental Illness Awareness Walk returns to Lions Park
The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Logan and Champaign Counties hosts the 18th annual Mental Illness Awareness Walk Saturday, May 6, rain or shine, at Lions Park in West Liberty.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The registration fee is $15 and includes a T-shirt. Door prizes, raffle prizes and food will be offered.

Friendship Center interpreters sought
The International Friendship Center of Logan County is in the process of updating its list of interpreters.
The center was founded 25 years ago to assist people relocating to the area who were challenged by our language. It typically served the Japanese speaking population who were here to assist and train for the Honda plant and their affiliates.
The focus of the organization has changed. There are not as many Japanese families living in the area, but the organization still is called upon to provide interpreters of all languages.
The organization’s current list of interpreters is out of date.
