MARYSVILLE — In much the same way it lost to Wapakoneta in Friday’s season opener, the Bellefontaine girls basketball team played a spirited first half here Tuesday before faltering in the second half.

The Chiefs led host Marysville 29-27 at halftime, but was outscored 35-17 over the final two quarters to fall 62-46 in a non-league contest.
“We were not the same team in the second half as we were in the first half,” said Bellefontaine head coach Henry Stolly. “We also saw that a little against Wapakoneta. We have to get to the point where we are playing 32 minutes of consistent basketball. You are always going to have some ups and downs, but we can’t allow those lulls to last for long stretches.”
