The Chieftain junior won the 100 backstroke (55.97) at the Southwest District Classic at Keating Natatorium in Cincinnati. Fulmer becomes the first local swimmer to win an event at the SW District Classic, which is the largest Division I/II swim meet in Ohio.
Fulmer also finished second in the 50 freestyle (23.50) and second in the 100 freestyle (51.73). Her finals times in the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle were new personal and program records.
“Amy continues to show great strength both mentally and physically,” said BHS head coach Sharon Lewis. “Saturday, she focused on form through her finals races and pushed through the last stroke in impressive finishes. On Sunday, she struggled with her turns during the 100 freestyle prelims and came back in finals to drop two seconds and nail her walls.”
