Carol Ann (Hoke) Fulmer, age 87, passed away at home on December 23, 2022.
Carol was born on July 31, 1935, in Brookville, OH to the parents of Everett and Gladys Hoke. Preceding her in death are her parents, Everett and Gladys, her brother, Richard, her loving husband, John, and two great grandchildren, Jason and Hannah Barth.
Surviving are her children, Chris (Rhonda) Fulmer and Cheryl Price, her grandchildren, Leslie Fulmer, Danielle (Nathan) Lattimer, Nathan (Danielle) Price, Nicole (Kevin) Barth, Lucas Fulmer, Jesse Fulmer, and Ray Fulmer, and her great grandchildren, Brayden Barth, Lydia Price, Madison Lattimer, Lane Price, Carson Barth, Daric Barth, Zane Lattimer, and Emmalee Lattimer.
Carol graduated from Riverside High School in 1953. In her senior year she dated the love of her life, John, and soon after graduation, they married on July 13, 1953. Their time together after marriage was short because John was called to serve in the Korean War. After 18 months of separation, they started their beautiful life together. From that time on they never were away from each other again. They raised two children, and she taught them many valuable lessons and how to be hard working and responsible adults.
Carol was a loving, kind wife and mother. She was a homemaker that worked hard to keep her home clean and well taken care of. She loved working in the yard and taking care of her flower gardens. She enjoyed going on vacations with her family and husband. They made many trips to Tennessee on fishing trips, spent winters in Florida, took a cruise to Alaska, but her favorite trip was their 25th Anniversary trip to Hawaii.
Carol loved any time her family gathered together. They were the joy of her life. She spent time with her grandchildren, and she was very much a part of their lives, and they have many fond memories of her. Carol and John were longtime members of Belle Center Methodist Church. In August, Carol began attending Mt. Tabor Church of God. She enjoyed going to church and greatly missed it when she couldn’t. She will be sadly missed by each one of her family members.
A special thank you to the staff of Universal Home Health and Hospice Care for all of their care, love and concern during this difficult time.
Her grandson, Nathan Price, will begin funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 29, at Mt. Tabor Church of God with visitation from 11:30 a.m. till 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Huntsville Cemetery.
Services are in the care of Shoffstall Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed at shoffstallfuneralhome.com.
