Joel Harper, 38, of Vicksburg, Miss., was charged with a felony count of possession of drugs and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug abuse instruments following an incident at A&E Campground, 3299 State Route 540, Bellefontaine.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the campground about 6:50 p.m. Tuesday in reference to drugs and drug paraphernalia that were recovered. Managers at the campground reported that workers discovered drugs and drug paraphernalia while cleaning a cabin.
Managers contacted Mr. Harper, who had been renting the cabin, and he denied ownership of the items.
Deputies placed him under arrest and transported him to the Logan County Jail. Preliminary testing by deputies determined the drugs to be methamphetamine.
Crash results in OVI charge
Gary L. Reprogle Sr., 68, of 280 W. Harrison St., Lakeview, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs following a crash early this morning in Lakeview.
Deputies report he was operating a northbound vehicle on north Main Street near Stephenson Street about 12:30 a.m. when he drove off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole.
The driver reported minor injuries, and was treated at the scene by Indian Lake EMS personnel. He also was wearing his seat belt.
The defendant was unable to perform field sobriety tests and refused a breath test, and was lodged in the jail. Mr. Reprogle also was cited for failure to control and left of center. He has two prior OVI convictions, deputies report.
