Calvary Christian’s girls basketball team picked up a 45-37 win over host Lima Perry on Monday.
The Spartans are now 6-2 on the season.
“Overall, we had a very tough non-conference schedule in the month of December,” said Calvary head coach Eli Carter. “We have played five OHSAA school teams and we are not only competing with them, I think we are surprising some folks by winning them. These tough games will help us down the stretch when tournament time comes around. We are a young and hungry team.”
Calvary fell down 14-11 after one quarter and the Spartans trailed 27-24 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Calvary moved in front 34-33. The Spartans got a three-pointer from Julie Childers early in the fourth quarter to take a four-point lead and Calvary held on down the stretch by making 6-of-8 free throws.
Elisha Carter scored a game-high 17 points and also tallied six rebounds, four assists and two steals to lead Calvary. Hannah Marlow contributed 13 points and 12 rebounds.
The Spartans return to action Saturday.
