Calvary Christian’s boys basketball team fell to New Hope 69-56 on Saturday in the finals of the Ohio Christian School Athletic Association state tournament.
The Spartans finish the season with a record of 20-6.
“Our team played a great game,” said Calvary head coach Lee Reinhard. “We came up short tonight at the end, but I’m so proud of the way we played. God was glorified in the way we played the game.”
Calvary Christian started out strong in the first half and led New Hope 33-31.
But the Spartans fell behind in the third quarter and trailed by a point at the end of the period.
New Hope then pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Calvary by 12 points to secure the win.
Xavier Daniels led the Spartans with 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Titus Davie had 12 points, nine rebounds and three steals, Isaac Reinhard and Ethan Carter both had eight points and Garrett Heater added seven points.
