Steven Burk’s latest dance with freedom lasted 35 days after he and three women with histories of drug offenses were arrested Wednesday.
The 67-year-old defendant was charged with a parole violation after officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department converged on his 812 W. Sandusky Ave. residence around 8:10 p.m.
On March 30, Logan County Common Pleas Assigned Judge Mark S. O’Connor granted the convict early release from a three-year prison term.
Also arrested were:
• Shawna Powell, 31, at large: possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia;
• Amber Barker, 29, at large: parole violation; and
• Kristen Fulkerson, 29, at large: failure to appear on a Union County felony warrant.
Officers were investigating a stolen car stopped behind the Burk residence around 6:20 p.m.
While conducting the stop, an officer observed Burk exit his residence with a female and then return inside.
The occupants of the car said they were at the residence to borrow tools from Burk.
The officer contacted the Logan County Adult Parole Authority about his observation and within 90 minutes the parole officers were at the residence.
