Delanie Buck was installed as new president of the Bellefontaine Rotary Club at the regular meeting Monday.
She replaces Sally Stolly, who presented an audiovisual recap of the club’s accomplishments during her tenure, which included induction of 14 new members at the conclusion of March Madness-themed membership drive, planting six trees in Rutan Park to celebrate Earth Day and a Rotary International initative; supporting Walk 4 Wells and Relay for Life Logan County, United Way Community Care Day, World Polio Plus Day, and monthly coffee and Conversation gatherings, as well as sponsoring an exchange student and various social events throughout the year.
The club also annually awards scholarships and recognizes outstanding high school academic achievement, sponsors local families in need during the holidays and awards literacy grants to local educators.
She extended her appreciation to all the Rotarians and friends who helped make the year a productive one.
During the regular noon meeting, the Linda Hauck “Making a Difference Award” was presented to Rotarian Steve Austin who has exemplified Service Above Self in Rotary for the past 23 years. Steve was bestowed this honor by last month’s recipient of the award, Sandy Musser.
The club convenes from noon to 1 p.m. Mondays a the Hilliker Y and guests are welcome.
