First United Methodist Church, 201 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, has partnered with Bridges Community Action Partnership to offer the nine-week., 17-session Bridges Out of Poverty/Getting Ahead classes. Classes are from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays beginning April 26 and continuing through June 22.
Jennifer Arnold, a certified Bridges trainer, conducts the classes which offer a comprehensive approach to understanding poverty and offering knowledge of how to overcome poverty and social class for opportunities to better personal life situations. All the sessions must be attended.
There is no cost to participate. Child care, transportation and meals are also provided free of cost.
Applications forms are available at Bridges Community Action and Job and Family Services and are to be returned by April 16 to Bridges Community Action. Seating is limited.
