Local students enjoyed another day off from classes Thursday as a result of snowfall that blanketed the area Wednesday afternoon and evening, and prompted a level one snow emergency and the cancellation of school for each of the area districts.
While pupils might partake in outdoor winter activities and other relaxing indoor fun on their day at home, several school districts reminded their students via social media Thursday that blizzard bags are now in effect, after the school district’s have missed their allotted number of calamity days.
Benjamin Logan Superintendent Dave Harmon told students via Facebook that Thursday was day one for blizzard bag or e-assignments that can be accessed via the district’s website, www.benlogan.k12.oh.us. From the district’s home page, students can click the “resources” link on the top banner and then select “for students” and “calamity day lessons.”
Indian Lake Schools stated via Facebook Thursday that the district was on day one for blizzard bags and that students should look for and complete their online assignments.
Ridgemont Schools officials also said on Facebook that the district was operating on e-day two for online assignments.
Junior high and high school students can access the assignments via Schoology, and elementary school assignments are available via the district’s website, www.ridgemont.k12.oh.us, by clicking “students” at the top banner and then select “elementary.”
