Madison Plains found a scoring surge in the third quarter to pull away from host Triad for a 55-35 win Friday in Ohio Heritage Conference boys basketball action.
The Cardinals fall to 1-14 overall and 0-11 in the league, while the Eagles move to 8-8, 6-5.
A low-scoring first quarter saw Triad take a 5-3 lead. Madison Plains outscored Triad 12-9 in the second quarter for a one-point lead (15-14) at the break.
The Eagles went on a 21-10 run in the third quarter to open up a 12-point cushion at 36-24.
Madison Plains continued to add to its lead in the final period.
Dillon Nott led Triad with 11 points, while Ayden Sanford and Ayden Spriggs each scored 10 points.
In junior varsity action, Madison Plains won 38-36. Carson Manley led the Cardinals with 11 points.
Madison Plains won the freshman game 55-35. Tyler Perry paced the Cardinals with 13 points.
Triad hosts Fairbanks on Tuesday for its next OHC contest.
