Bellefontaine High School’s athletic department on Friday announced it is suspending football activities for a week.
The statement released by athletic director Matt Comstock said the decision was made out of “an abundance of caution.”
Football activities will resume Oct. 24.
As a result of the suspension of football activities, Bellefontaine’s junior varsity game against Benjamin Logan for today has been canceled. Also, the junior varsity and varsity games against Urbana next weekend have also been canceled.
Before Bellefontaine’s decision to halt football activities was made, the school was informed that Urbana was ending its season after this weekend, so the Urbana contests would have been canceled regardless.
