Bellefontaine High School Team 9185A-FOAB members Ben Parsons, Zane Warren and Micah Woolf won an Excellence Award, the highest award presented, during a Double Header Vex Robotics Competition over the weekend at North Union Middle School.
The Excellence Award is presented to a team that exemplifies overall excellence in building a high-quality robotics program.
Team 9185A earned a spot at the tournament playoffs at the contest, along with BHS Team 9185B “Freshman on a Boat” members Austin Hammond, Cooper Harman, Marco Martinez and Theo Reminder.
“They have shown very promising start to the Vex Robotics Season,” adviser Sandi Chervenak said. “Congratulations to teams 9185A and 9185B. You represented Bellefontaine High School very well at the first Vex Robotics Competition of the season.”
Bellefontaine Middle School robotics students also competed in the weekend contest.
Team 7185B comprised of Hayden Maus, Max Fissel, Cody Hudson and Mason Swisher stayed at the top of the leader board throughout the morning and competed in the semi-finals later in the day.
“Congratulations to all 19 students who competed. You represented Bellefontaine Middle School very well and it was a fun competition.” Chervenak said.
