Bellefontaine’s boys and girls cross country teams competed in a large field Saturday at the Cedarville Friendship Invitational.
The Chieftain girls finished seventh out of 24 teams in the Division II-III race and the Chieftain boys were 13th out of 24 teams in the Division I race.
Tippecanoe won the girls DII-III race with 37 points, Springfield Shawnee was second with 89 points, Russia came in third with 95 points and Lima Shawnee was fourth with 119 points. Bellefontaine had 269 points.
“The girls did a great job responding to running on this district course,” said BHS head coach Ben Davis. “We had personal records in most instances. This was an important step forward in qualifying to the regional meet five weeks from now.”
