Bellefontaine and Benjamin Logan’s boys cross country teams won their respective divisions at the Central Buckeye Conference race Saturday at London High School.
The Chieftains won the CBC Kenton Trail division title and were first overall with 37 points. Jonathan Alder, which is ranked 18th in the Division II state poll, was second overall with 57 points and Springfield Shawnee was third overall with 105 points. The Raiders were fourth overall and claimed the CBC Mad River division championship with 123 points. Indian Lake finished 11th overall and sixth in the MR with 274 points.
Shawnee was first overall in the girls race and won the Kenton Trail title with 36 points, while Alder was second overall with 39 points. Bellefontaine’s girls finished fifth overall and fourth in the KT with 152 points and Ben Logan was seventh overall and third in the Mad River division with 164 points. Indian Lake took eighth overall and fourth in the MR with 174 points.
Bellefontaine’s Nate Murphy was the area’s top runner in the boys race with a third-place finish in a time of 16:24.4 out of 105 runners. Ben Logan’s Dani Widmark led the area girls with a seventh-place finish in a time of 20:09.8.
