Beverly R. Focht, 91, of Waynesfield, OH, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, at her home.
Beverly was born on February 28, 1931, in West Mansfield, OH, a daughter of the late Earl Faukner and Ruth Bailey Fogt and stepfather, Russell Fogt.
On January 3, 1954, she married the Fred F. Focht in Bellefontaine, OH and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2014. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Denton Faulkner, a sister, Lana Powers, and several in-laws, Burt Snow, Jill Fogt, Ruth Tussing Richardson, Georgia Mason, Eileen Smith, Lena Davisson, Virginia Hogan, Charlotte Hatfield, Richard Focht, Ted Focht, Ray Focht, Wilson Tussing, Dick Richardson, Ed Mason, Roy Davisson, Herbert Hogan, Richard Hatfield, Ralph Smith, and Paticia Focht.
Bev is survived by two children, Jennifer (Dan) Harpster of Waynesfield, and Jeffrey (Liz) Focht of Lima, OH, two granddaughters, Deborah (Josh) Correa of Placentia, CA, and Sarah Harpster of Columbus, OH, five great grandchildren, Emri Harpster, Cyan Correa, Jenna Correa, Alice Schoeffler, and Walter Schoeffler, three siblings, Sue Snow of East Arlington, VT, Andrew Fogt of Mansfield, OH, and Paula Stein of Utah, a brother-in-law, Tom Powers of New Albany, OH, and many nieces and nephews.
Bev was a 1949 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. She was a member of Waynesfield United Methodist Church. Bev was a charter member of Waynesfield- Goshen PTO and member of Waynesfield-Goshen Music Boosters. She worked at the Waynesfield Library later named the Edward R. and Minnie D. White Memorial Library from 1973 until she retired in 2001.She was a staunch supporter and advocate for the library and children’s literacy. Bev enjoyed gardening, growing her various roses, baking, sewing, and reading.
Pastor Bob Sweeney will begin memorial services at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 25, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview. Visitation is Wednesday, August 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Inurnment will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
