Betty Lou Gibson, age 82, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 7:22 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2020, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. She was born in Williamson, W.Va., on June 2, 1937, to the late Leo and Myrtle Marie (Perry) Gannon.
On Oct. 24, 1964 she married Verlyn L. “Gib” Gibson Sr. and he preceded her in death April 14, 2011. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Smith; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ernestine and Bill Sievers and Jackie and Leo Blankenship.
She is survived by her children, Lori Streeter, Kim (Mike) Bell, Darren (Jean) Gibson, and Verlyn (Becky) Gibson Jr.; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; siblings, Judy (Joe) Francis, Billy Jean (Sam) Rairigh, Patsy (Bill) Shafer, and Virgil Gannon; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty graduated from Williamson High in Williamson, W.Va., in 1956. She worked for D.A.B. for 41 1/2 years and after retiring she worked for Wal-Mart for 10 years. Betty enjoyed her dog, Bella, watching westerns, going out with the “Wal-Mart Girls”, cookouts, garage sales, and shopping. All who knew and loved Betty will miss her.
Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister deserves a beautiful tribute. However, we appreciate in this unknown time with the COVID-19 pandemic that attending a service may not be in your best health interest.
