Benjamin Logan’s girls bowling team earned a return trip to the district tournament after qualifying Friday during the Division II sectional meet at Poelking Marian Lanes in Huber Heights.
The Raiders, who advanced al the way to the state tournament two years ago, finished seventh out of 22 teams with 3,165 pins. Indian Lake, West Liberty-Salem and Riverside also saw individuals earn district berths.
The top eight teams and top eight individuals not on a qualifying team at the sectional meet move on to the district tournament Thursday, Feb. 20 at Beaver-Vu Lanes in Beavercreek.
Greenon won the sectional title Friday with 3,519 pins, Mechanicsburg was runner-up with 3,477, while Versailles and Urbana tied for third with 3,323 pins each. Rounding out the qualifying teams were Kettering Alter (3,240), Kenton Ridge (3,209) and Ft. Loramie (3,094).
Indian Lake missed qualifying by one spot in ninth with 3,042 pins, Riverside was 11th with 2,940 and West Liberty-Salem was 21st with 2,337.
Powering Ben Logan’s girls was Ashley Gantt, who was ninth overall with games of 202, 178 and 144 for a 524 series. Eric Warne was 12th overall with games of 222, 145 and 146 for a 513 series, Kaylee Nicholas rolle games of 178, 174 and 139 for a 491 series, Malori Barnes recorded games of 171, 142 and 138 for a 451 series and Addie Buckenroth added a game of 104.
Indian Lake had two individual qualifiers with Jalan Martin in 19th and Madison Kidder in 28th. Martin rolled games of 169, 215 and 110 for a 494 series, while Kidder had games of 176, 145 and 136 for a 457 series.
For WL-Salem, Katie Rollins qualified as an individual in 30th with games of 126, 155 and 173 for a 454 series.
Rayce Yelton became Riverside’s first girl to qualify to the district bowling tournament. She was 32nd overall with gams of 106, 196 and 150 for a 452 series.
The rest of Indian Lake’s team saw Isabelle Young roll games of 144, 133 and 154 for a 431 series, while Jessica Evans had games of 126, 143 and 140 for a 409 series.
Other girls competing for the Pirates were Ashley Russell with games of 158, 165 and 108 for a 431 series, Angela Walter rolled games of 154, 113 and 161 for a 428 series, Cyan Fout recorded games of 130, 134 and 132 for a 396 series, Jaelyn Hughes had games of 130, 138 and 112 for a 380 series and Dora Bryant added games of 104, 100 and 152 for a 356 series.
Also bowling for the Tigers were Natalie Hacker with games fo 112, 124 and 120 for a 356 series, Blair Boyd with games of 117, 105 and 116 for a 338 series, Abbey Riblet with games of 93, 103 and 101 for a 297 series and Vicky Dong with games of 101 and 74 for a 175 series.
