A total of 12 local softball players were recently voted the all-Central Buckeye Conference team, with Benjamin Logan leading the way with three first-team picks.
Earning all-Mad River first-team selections for Ben Logan were Kyah Moore, Jillian Plikerd and Jenn Naragon, while Indian Lake saw Haylee Edwards make the first team.
Landing spots on the Mad River second team were Ben Logan’s Lynzee Cronkleton and Ryelle Gibson and Indian Lake’s Allix Cotterman.
Special mention honors went to Ben Logan’s Rhea Harner and Indian Lake’s Kyleigh Huffer.
Bellefontaine had two second-team selections with Tayteum Vigansky and Lindsey Heminger, while Rianna Fullerton earned a special mention nod.
Local athletes earning CBC sportsmanship awards were Ben Logan’s Gretchen Wilber, Indian Lake’s Madison Brentlinger and Bellefontaine’s Rylie Fullerton.
The CBC Mad River player of the year award went to Northwestern’s Cassidy Christian, while the Kenton Trail player of the year went to Jonathan Alder’s Marlee Jacobs.
Other members of the Mad River first-team list were North Union’s Reese DeCamp, Regan Martino and Kayla Sedgwick, Northwestern’s Christian, Urbana’s Jennifer Zaborowski and Graham’s Lauren Woodruff.
Also on the second-team squad were Graham’s Lexi King and Morgan Pine, North Union’s Laine Sparks, Kennady Ruhl and Cagney Stewart, Urbana’s Emily Skelley, Graham’s Morgan Pine and Northwestern’s Natalie Boehmer.
Rounding out the Mad River special mention list were Graham’s Olivia Bryant, North Union’s Candace Holloway, Northwestern’s Bri Warren and Urbana’s Meleah Murphy.
Making up the Kenton Trail first-team squad were Jonathan Alder’s Jacobs, Danielle Robbins and Kiersten Dolby, Shawnee’s Hannah Beers and Dani Ross, Tecumseh’s Hannah Strouse and Ava Moore, London’s Sabrina Burke and Elli Trimble and Kenton Ridge’s Kirsten Wright.
Filling out the rest of the second team were Kenton Ridge’s Kylie Ropp, Audrey Fyffe and Bree Trainer, Shawnee’s Tori Huxley, Jonathan Alder’s Jaden Phelps, Tecumseh’s Bailey Drews and Rylee McComas and London’s Cadence Doughman.
Earning special mention honors were Jonathan Alder’s Kylie King, Kenton Ridge’s Kelcie Schnitzler, Kennedy Nickell, Megan Kelly and Kenedi Hays.
