Benjamin Logan FFA offered a water safety booth called “Sink or Swim” at the Logan County Fair through an effort spearheaded by students Jade Wical, Darby Eades and Abby Austin.
The pupils accepted a $900 grant from the Logan County Electric Cooperative for the project, with the goal of informing adults and children of the dangers of drowning and preventative measures.
Funds were used to purchase approximately 100 life jackets for adults and children, which were raffled at the fair booth. Bud’s Marine provided a discounted price on purchase of the life jackets.
Also at the fair booth, a coloring contest was offered for children, and the Ohio Soybean Council donated the crayons.
