MARION — A Bellefontaine man was arrested Saturday after he led troopers of the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol on a high speed chase.
Jamal Donte Sartin, 20, has been charged with failure to comply, receiving stolen property, obstruction of justice and failure to control.
Around 9:55 p.m., a trooper was on State Route 4 in Marion County following a northbound van stolen from Yvette Hunsicker’s 1616 Maple Ridge residence.
The vehicle crossed over the center line and sped off. The suspect turned south onto State Route 203 traveling off the right side of the road while turning.
The trooper activated his lights and sirens but the suspect continued on. Stop sticks were deployed and flatten a tire on the van. Still, the chase continued into Prospect where the van traveled off the left side into a ditch.
It came to a rest back on the road.
The suspect took off on foot but soon returned complaining of injury to his left arm. He refused medical treatment and was arrested.
