Pony League champions — Bellefontaine II Exchange Club won the Logan County Pony League tournament this weekend. In the winner’s bracket semifinal round, Bellefontaine II defeated Ridgemont 2-1. Connor Rose singled in the game-winning run and Markus Brugler, Rose and Jarrid Baughman combined for 11 strikeouts and two hits in the victory.
Bellefontaine II then beat Lakeview 8-5 in the winner’s bracket final. Jeremy Baughman went the distance on the mound to get the win. Offensively, Cole Comstock had four hits and two RBI, Rose had two hits and four RBI and Hunter Grow added an RBI double.
For Lakeview, Dolan Miller had two hits and Caden Hyder contributed a two-run double.
Bellefontaine II then faced Lakeview again in the championship game, with Bellefontaine II prevailing 4-2. Jarrid Baughman threw a two-hitter and struck out 16 for the win.
Offensively, Rose had two hits and three RBI, Cole Comstock had two hits and Markus Brugler had an RBI.
