Player of the year — Kelsey Day, WL-Salem
Kelsey Day did it all for West Liberty-Salem this spring. The junior standout sparkled in the pitching circle, going 20-3 with 118 strikeouts and just 26 walks in 138.2 innings. She had an ERA of 1.716. Day also served as the headliner of a potent WL-Salem offensive lineup. She led the team in batting average (.493), hits (37), doubles (12), triples (six) and RBI (47). She also had three home runs and scored 17 runs. She struck out just three times in 92 plate appearances. Day, who powered the Tigers to a district championship, was the Ohio Heritage Conference North division player of the year and a first-team Division III all-Ohio selection.
