Beatrice Froebe, 101, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 4:45 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, at Green Hills Care Center. She was born in Bucyrus, on Oct. 14, 1918, to the late Harry and Ruth (Beal) Caldwell.
On July 28, 1940, she married Paul E. Froebe and he preceded her in death Sept. 8, 1994. Beatrice was also preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Eva Skinner, Eleanor Froebe, James Caldwell, and Calvin Caldwell.
She is survived by her sons, Barry (Karen) Froebe of Urbana, and Timothy (Susan) Froebe of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Garth (Dr. Jill Jones) Froebe, Wendy (Ryan) Vincent, Traci (Kevin) Baird, Teri (Lori) Froebe-Self, and Meghan Hanna; four great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Beatrice was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine, a member of the Woman’s Circle at the First United Methodist Church, and also an Eastern Star. She was a very talented seamstress and worked many years for James Floors and Interiors in Bellefontaine making custom draperies. Beatrice was a fantastic cook, and was known for her kind and compassionate spirit. She and her husband, Paul, were a part of the Hi-Point Seesaw’s Square Dancing Group, and loved to go dancing. Beatrice was very proud of her family and all who loved and knew her will miss her.
Pastor Ben Schaeffer will officiate a graveside service at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at the Bellefontaine Cemetery.
