CLEVELAND (AP) — The shooting death of a Cleveland teenager who authorities initially believed had killed himself has now been ruled a homicide.
The 16-year-old boy was found dead May 12 in a home in the city’s Union-Miles neighborhood, authorities said. He had been shot in the head.
Investigators initially though the death was a suicide, but they now believe another juvenile accidentally shot him. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner on Thursday ruled the death a homicide.
Authorities have not released further details on the shooting or said what may have prompted it. No other injuries were reported.
It’s not clear if any charges will be filed in connection with the shooting.
