Trevin W. Eisnaugle, 30, of 2619 Valleyview Drive, Bellefontaine, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs relating to an all-terrain vehicle crash on his property in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched about 1:50 a.m. to his residence on a report of a man who had crashed an ATV and had a head injury.
Upon arrival at the residence, deputies observed an open garage door and a number of empty beer cans on the back of a vehicle.
Deputies spoke with Eisnaugle inside the home and observed that he was unsteady on his feet and showed other signs of impairment. EMS personnel checked the defendant’s injuries, and he began to tell deputies that he and his friends had been drinking “a lot” and then he decided to ride his ATV.
Eisnaugle declined to submit to field sobriety tests and to a breath test. He was issued an OVI citation and released to a family member.
Minor injuries reported in horse and buggy crash
Donna M. Francis, 37, of Bellefontaine, was transported by private vehicle to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspect minor injuries sustained in a crash Thursday evening.
She was a passenger in a westbound horse and buggy operated by Aaron M. Francis, 35, of Bellefontaine, about 5:35 p.m. in the 3600 block of east State Route 47.
A westbound 2007 Ford F-150 operated by Justin E. Perkins, 44, of Rushsylvania, reportedly crested a hill on S.R. 47 and struck the rear of the buggy that had stopped to make a right turn into a driveway.
Perkins and Mr. Francis did not report any injuries. Perkins was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. Damage was light to the pickup and heavy to the buggy.
• Erin Geigles, 37, of Marengo, was cited for failure to control related to a crash during winter weather conditions Sunday morning.
Deputies report she was operating an eastbound 2013 Chrysler Town & Country in the 2900 block of S.R. 47 about 9:05 a.m. when she slid on the icy roadway and went off the right side of the road, striking a telephone pedestal and a curve sign.
Damage was light to the minivan. The driver was wearing her seat belt.
• Bobby R. Hutchinson, 54, of Xenia, was cited for a vehicle prohibition violation related to an crash involving his dump truck Thursday afternoon.
Deputies report he was operating an eastbound 1992 Kenworth dump truck on County Road 105 about 12:45 p.m. with the bed raised on the dump truck. The vehicle reportedly struck overhead cable wires, causing them to snap, along with a telephone pole.
The impact then sent the telephone pole across the road and into the side of a storage building at 1558 C.R. 105.
Woman lodged for domestic violence
Courtney T. Toronto, 35, of 13029 W. State Route 47, Quincy, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident Wednesday.
Deputies were dispatched to her residence about 7 p.m. on a report of a domestic altercation.
Her former boyfriend told deputies that Toronto is in the process of moving out of the residence. He said that evening, the pair had been in a verbal argument and that Toronto had been drinking when he arrived home.
The defendant allegedly damaged a bedroom wall and door at the home, and also reportedly had shoved her boyfriend’s 13-year-old son during an altercation. No other injuries were reported by Toronto or her boyfriend.
She was placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
