ROBINSON-BOND |
Logan County Prosecutor Eric Stewart has suspended Assistant Prosecutor Alice Robinson-Bond for two weeks without pay after she was charged Thursday with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
“As the Logan County Prosecutor I take OVIs very seriously,” Stewart said Sunday in a statement.
“As ministers of justice, prosecutors must be held to a high standard. We are accountable to the law just like every citizen that we serve, protect, and prosecute.
“However, just like everyone else, prosecutors are human, we make mistakes, and those mistakes come with consequences.
“As prosecutor I strive for fairness and justice in every case. After taking time to carefully review the facts regarding her recent OVI charge, I have decided to suspend Ms. Robinson-Bond for two weeks without pay, effective immediately.
“Ms. Robinson-Bond will have to get counseling and also answer to the charges in Union County just like anyone else. Ms. Robinson-Bond does not have any history of OVI offenses and this is an aberration. She is a valuable member of our team and is expected to resume her responsibilities on Jan. 8.”
