Rebecca Carman of Bellefontaine, a 2017 Ohio Northern University graduate, recently earned an inaugural Award for Student Excellence from the New American Colleges and Universities, which recognizing students for their knowledge and experience in liberal arts, professional studies or experiential learning, and/or civic engagement.

She was among three individuals who were recognized during the NAC&U conference at Valparaiso University in Indiana.
Carman’s project, “Design for Good,” took a practical approach to addressing societal change by encouraging people to change old habits, preserve nature, establish community relationships, and recognize the importance of sustainability through design-thinking and problem-solving.
